Frequently asked questions

When do tickets go on sale?

Tickets typically go on sale 4-6 weeks before the event.

How does it work and what should I expect?

Check out our upcoming events and pick which dinner parties sound like a good fit for you. If tickets are not yet on sale, you can set a reminder when you visit the Eventbrite page. Otherwise, if tickets are on sale you can purchase yours!

On dinner party day, try to arrive 5-10 minutes early. Upon entering the restaurant, you will find your custom and personalized place-setting at the table. Your host will take care of everything, moderating the conversation through intros, icebreakers, games, giveaways, and more. You will walk away with a full stomach and heart, new friends, and a locally handmade gift.

For more details about our experience check out our blog, "A Look into DishCourse's Unique Experience" or "What to Expect at a DishCourse Dinner Party."

How can I stay connected after the dinner party?

At the end of your dinner party, we will make a group chat to stay in touch. We also have both a Facebook group and Discord server for the DishCourse Family, which includes everyone who has attended a dinner. This creates a community for strangers to continue expanding their social circles and stay connected.

Who attends these dinner parties?

Anyone can purchase a ticket regardless of age, gender, orientation, etc. However, we find the typically audience is in their twenties and thirties. We do offer age and interest-specific dinner parties if you are interested in joining the table with a particular demographic. You can check them out on our events calendar.

What if I'm nervous to have dinner with strangers?

It's okay (and very natural) to be a little nervous about a dinner party with strangers, but if there's one thing I've learned from hosting these events, it's that we are all here for a reason and that's to connect. You'd be surprised just how quickly we open up to each other when there's nothing to lose!

Can I attend more than one dinner party?

Absolutely. We welcome guests to come back to the table whenever they want to meet a new group of strangers. And if you see someone you've already dined with, great! Now you have the opportunity to get to know them even better.

How does the waitlist work?

If our event sells out, you may sign up to be added to the waitlist. If we receive a cancellation, we will release tickets. We will go in the order of the waitlist, unless it is the week of the event. In that case, we will release tickets to everyone on the waitlist.

What is your refund policy?

We understand things come up. We are able to process a credit (to use toward a future event) or refund 7+ days before the event. If it is the week of the event, we will will try to replace your seat, but cannot guarantee a refund or credit. If it is within 48 hours of an event, we are unable to process a credit or refund.
